Nature’s Laboratory is a pioneering, family run natural healthcare company based in Whitby, North Yorkshire. The company research and manufacture evidence based herbal and apiceutical products. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated, organised and creative individual to join our team. The role requires a great all rounder who is focussed on delivering excellent customer service and dedicated to improving administrative systems.

Job purpose:

To be responsible for the daily running of the sales office for Nature’s Laboratory. To be the first point of contact for all customer relations. To maintain and improve all relevant administrative systems. To coordinate purchasing and fulfil basic book keeping duties.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

1.            Answer all inbound calls and either direct to appropriate person or deal with personally

2.            Take orders placed over the phone, by email or through our various websites and enter     them onto our internal orders system.

3.            Track orders from start to finish, this will involved liaising with production and despatch staff onsite, along with contacting the customers when necessary.

4.            Manage stock control on our online stores on a daily basis.

5.            Respond to and follow up sales enquiries by telephone, fax, email and through the websites

6.            Maintain appropriate and relevant computerised customer databases.

7.            Manage all paperwork relating to sales and file as necessary.

8.            Sending out customer statements and reminders for payment.

9.            Keep the small on site shop sufficiently stocked and deal with any door sales from the public.

10.          Play a role in co-ordinating purchasing. This will be by collating information fed from production and despatch and passing on to management for signing off of purchase orders etc.

11.          Update key statistical figures relating to sales and be able to present this information relevantly.

12.          Carry out as requested direct marketing activities, both proactive telephone calls and direct mail activity to agreed programme.

13.          Help to develop sales by supporting Business Development Director with product development, marketing and targeted sales calls to key accounts.

14.          Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned individual account support.

15.          Liaise and attend meetings with other company functions necessary to perform duties and aid business and organisational development.



Skills/Experience Required:

Excellent customer service skills

Experience of MS Office programs

Excellent time management skills

Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, clients and suppliers

Ability to work well under pressure and prioritise one’s workload within the context of a small team Have a good eye for detail and be able to manage sets of data effectively

Good grasp of Maths and English

Experience of Sage Line 50 Accounting software  - desirable but not essential


Working hours:

Full time Mon-Fri


Competitive but dependent on experience.
