James Fearnley has today arrived in Tanzania. He is visiting the Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre, www.kcmc.ac.tz which has a school for health professionals. He is working with Professor Terence Ryan from the International Wound Healing Foundation www.oxfordinternationalwoundfoundation.org with the aim of eventually setting up clinical trials in the areas of wound healing, skin treatments and immune support.
Whilst on his trip to Tanzania James will also see Joseph Sekiku of the organisation Family Alliance for Development and Cooperation (Fadeco) www.fadeco.org He will talk with Joseph about the HIV/AIDS programmes that are in place, including the results of small scale experiments using BeeVital propolis donated last year. He will also be seeing beekeepers in the area raising awareness of propolis and its health promoting attributes and trying to encourage beekeepers to harvest and use the propolis as a local resource.
