Bee Propolis Natural Healing from the Hive
Buy the Book Here!
Manufactured by the bees from plant resins to keep their hives free of microbes, propolis is rapidly acquiring recognition as a natural product with vast potential for human health. Although its antiseptic properties were known since the Greeks with Hippocrates being an advocate of the resin, only recently have scientific studies have shown that it could be of help in treating a wide range of conditions. Worldwide research has found that;

Most importantly, propolis contains powerful antibacterial properties which are capable of destroying strains that have become resistant to conventional antibiotics. Could it be the natural antibiotic of the future?
Written by one of the world's leading experts on propolis, this pioneering book explains how to use propolis as part of everyday care, with advice on preparations and dosages, and provides full references and details of organisations and suppliers. It is a valuable introduction to a product that is increasingly in the news.
What is Propolis ?
PPropolis is a sticky resin that seeps from the buds of some trees and oozes from the bark of other trees, chiefly conifers. The bees gather propolis, sometimes called bee glue, and carry it home in their pollen baskets. Propolis is used to line the interior of brood cells in preparation for the queen's laying of eggs, a most important procedure. With its antiseptic properties, this propolis lining insures an almost sterile environment for the brood, interestingly much more sterile than our hospitals.
The Constituents of Propolis
Propolis is a very complex mixture and its chemical elements vary according to its source. A broad analysis reveals approximately 55 percent resinous compounds and balsam, 30 percent beeswax, 10 percent ethereal and aromatic oils, and 5 percent bee pollen. Bioflavonols are the key contributors to propolis' properties, components include cinnamic acid, cinnamyl alcohol, vanillin, caffeic acid, tetochrysin, isalpinin, pinocembrin, chrysin, galangin, and ferulic acid.
The Properties of Propolis
Propolis research shows it offers antiseptic, antibiotic, antibacterial, antifungal, and even antiviral properties both in vitro and in vivo although no clinical trials in the UK. Propolis is a complex attack system in nature. It is so powerful in action, it is often called Russian penicillin in acknowledgement of the extensive research the Russians have mounted on this wonder worker from the bees. Propolis has shown powerful antimicrobial and antifungal properties. Even streptococcus bacteria have been shown to be sensitive to propolis. With MRSA and "super-bugs" in the news regularly, Propolis with its multi-pronged effect relieving infection is seeing increased exposure in the media.
Natures's Preventive Medicine
The immune system is supported and strengthened by the ingestion of propolis. Modern scientific studies indicate that those who take propolis regularly escape winter colds and sore throats and seem to develop a natural immunity to common viruses, including the various strains of flu. In animal studies the phenomena of immune boosting is due to synergistic immunomodulatory effect of the components of Propolis, simultaneously increasing immune system function while directly inhibiting the pathogens. An individual who constantly takes prescribed antibiotics for one condition after another will find that the drugs will have decreased effects. As invading bacteria become "resistant" the drugs become less and less effective. Propolis has also been proven effective against strains of bacteria that resist chemical antibiotics probably due to its complexity. Because of Propolis' large number of properties the disorders and diseases it can help treat is large. Cancer, swelling of the throat, gout, open wounds, sinus congestion, colds, influenza, bronchitis, gastritis, periodontal disease, intestinal infections, ulcers, eczema eruptions, pneumonia, arthritis, lung disease, stomach virus, headaches, bile infections, sclerosis, circulation deficiencies, warts, conjunctivitis, and hoarseness. Propolis helps regulate cytokines(the immune system's messengers) and therefore stimulates the natural resistance of the body. But can also control allergies caused by an overactive immune system. Propolis may be used by everyone, sick or healthy, as a means of protection against micro organisms. Propolis cures many diseases because it is a special natural substance with strong effect. Use it as part of your daily program of supplementation. It has helped the bee society survive and thrive for over 45 million years. Just think what it could do for you
Disclaimer: The properties discussed above have been displayed in vitro and in animals, clinical studies performed on humans were performed outside of the UK
